<div style="display:none">fiogf49gjkf0d</div>Knowledge is power! 학교 : 영산대학교 학과 : 외식경영학과 성명 : 김정재 Today's generation is global and mutual cooperation relations with other countries. So, we have to know other country culture and need to comprehend. Today my topic is 'How can we adapt in Philippines'. I would like to ask a question. How much do you know about philippines culture or lifestyle? Because I live and study in Bacolod, i can experience it myself. If you don't know philippines culture, From now on, I will introduce about it. First of all, filipinos, restaurants, transportations and even animals are very slow. We must have patience. In the restaurant, after we order the food, we should wait a lot of time. Don't worry. Your order will come soon. Also, transportations(car or jeepney etc) are slow. In here, i couldn't see above 60km/h speed. Don't be bewildered. This is just their culture. The second, Philippine's weather. This time, you need to be patient, of course. The weather is hot and humid. Wear loose and comfortable clothing in light color. When you feel dizzy or short of breath, you may be dehydrated. Drink plenty of fluids. It might be a good idea to carry a bottle of water. Likewise korean weather, the weather have four seasons. The seasons are summer, hot summer, very hot summer and rainy. Really, the seasons is much hotter than previous season. Expecially, keep in mind. Always take an umbrella. Not only forecasters don't know weather condition but also God. Suddenly occasions of heavy rain is usual. The third is Philippine's public transportation system. In the city, the jeepney is the cheapest form of transportation. Jeepneys travel on fixed routes these are painted on the sides of the vehicle. There are no designated jeepney stops they stop anywhere to pick up or drop off passengers. Alternatives to the jeepney are tricycles(motorcycles with side cars) and pedicabs(bicycles with side cars). These have no fixed routes and are used for short distances. Another choice taxicabs are available within the city. And buses are used for trips outside the city. The fourth is Philippine's food. In bacolod, the most famous food is chicken. There is a lot of cooking method(baked, grilled, barbecue etc). Kinds of food is also various. An example of traditional food is Balut. It is an exotic food which foreigners hesitate to try. It's a 16 days old duck egg. It's boiled and sold by night to filipinos for strong stamina. On the other hand, Filipino's food may be too sweet, too salty, or too oily for our taste. When in doubt, you can ask the waiter. The best important thing is water! Drink bottled water at all times to prevent upset stomach. Finally, the filipino's characteristics. Filipinos are very courteous and accomodating. To greet, To smile and to use body language are the best way to be close. They are always willing to extend a helping hand when asked politely. As what I've said, they move at a slower pace. Try to be patient. And Filipinos are non- confrontational. Exercise tact when making a complaint or a request. They are hospitable. They often invite friends to come their homes and entertain them warmly. Therefore, I believe in the saying that "When in Rome, follow what the Romans do." When we go to another country, we should be aware of their customs and lifestyle. This way, it can help us understand our environment and I hope my writing would be a big help in your journey. |
