The evaluation standards were pronunciation, enunciation, intonation, voice, performance, and content. The contest was November 7, 2014. Until This time, I practiced a lot. Topic of the speech was What is true beauty? Firstly, I wrote draft of script, and revised the writing with my teacher. Finally I made a my speech script perfectly. And then I memorized repeatedly. I did my best. I always practiced with action in front of mirror. The attire also I prepared. I was waiting for the day. I looked forward to the speech contest. Here is my speech script. <What is true beauty?> Hello, everyone. Good afternoon. I have a common question. What is definition of true beauty? Maybe Everyone has a different opinion. Some people see beauty in nature like the mountain, the ocean, and the forest. But some think they can see beauty in fashion, luxury, style, appearance, body shape, and even in fantastic building. These are up to your personal opinion. And standard about true beauty is different from nation, personality or lifestyle. Do you think true beauty is something visible? In my on view, true beauty is inner beauty. Appearance can always be deceiving, because obviously it’s the first thing we see. If you have enough wealth, you could always change your appearance. On the other hand, Inner beauty is very precious thing. If we appreciate life that’s given to us, we can feel true beauty in everything like love of people, family and friends, spirit to volunteer for others, having passion to celebrate life as it is. And loving nature as god’s gift to us as a wonderful blessing. Don’t try to think that worldly desires are the true meaning of beauty. Most people believe that physical appearance such as plastic surgery, cosmetics, and facial enhancement would make them happy. But this is just artificial beauty. And brings only short term satisfaction. It does not last forever. I believe in the saying that beauty is what you feel about yourself not about what you see in the mirror. Consider my speech as an eye opener. Practice the act of seeing beauty where you can find true happiness from within. Appreciate the simple things. And find true beauty from within. Have a great night. In my speech contest, I got a second place. When I spoke my speech, I was very nervous. Even though I had a confidence a lot, I made a mistake and forgot some sentence. Because lots of audiences were there. To remember script, I exerted all the endeavors in my power. But I think that I did it successfully. Speech contest is very good experience for me. Next week, I have Reading Festival. I will do my best. |
