So Oct, 17, Friday We went to Lacson Street. The huge festival is held in this street. The festival name is Masskara Festival. I told other people want to talk about this festival. First, A story on the history of the Masskara Festival. The festival was first began in 1980. In fact, Bacolod City in 1980 is the period of the crisis. In that time, people’s main job is sugar came and main product also same. So they were poor. Apr, 22, 1980, MV Don Juan & Tacloban Tanker collided and 700 people died. After the city’s artists, local government and civic groups were worried about this problem. They decided to hold a festival of smiles. In this tragic event. No matter how hard the situation, Bacolod City is going to survive and triumph. And now Bacolod City has image of smiles. Second, A story on the configuration of the Masskara Festival. Competition where people from all walks of life troop to the streets to see colorful mask dancers dancing to the rhythm of Latin musical beat in a display of mastery, coordination and stamina. Major activities include the Masskara Queen Beauty Pageant, carnivals, drum beats, food festivals, sports events, musical concerts and agriculture trade fairs and garden shows. Third, My impressions of Masskara Festival is feeling. A lot of people were walking the street. And they enjoyed watching festival. Also When they sit on a chair, they drank beer and talked about something story with friends. During 3days, I enjoyed Masskara Festival. Sunday night, Electric parade was held from the Lacson streets. Decorated with colorful lighting cars move slowly. The car on a variety of people appreciating a dance. They played musical instruments. I think the parade was marvelous. I can’t take my eyes off until the end of the parade. For me, the Masskara Festival has special memories. Therefore I like this festival, and I want to be known to the festival who people don’t know Bacolod. Actually this the festival is so famous that people visited Bacolod City to watch the festivities. Even people who read this knowledge, will understand Bacolod City people’s sentiments, and I want that they indirectly to feel the atmosphere of city. |
