| I've been in Bacolod for ten weeks already. Time has been running so fast that I've lost track of it. Before I left Korea, I was full of excitement and expectation. Actually, I had no idea what was waiting for me. I was just hoping to improve my English in all possible ways. When I first set my foot on this land, the first thing I felt was the extreme heat. It was freezing when I left Korea, so the sudden change of enviroment surprised me. Another thing I quickly noticed was the structures around. In Korea, especially in Busan, there are tall buldings in every corner. I was surprised that I didn't see any in Bacolod. The mood and the atmosphere were very diffrent from Korea. It made me worried. However, after few days, I started meeting and seeing new people. I noticed that Fillipinos adored Korean so much. They usually greet us in Korean when they see us in the street. I never thought that foreigners were interested in Korea and the Korean language. It was really surprising. Studying English in here in the Philippines has been interesting and fun, but at the same time, it's been hard. I'm far away from my family and friends. Sometimes I feel helpless. Anothet thing is the streets here. Some of them are dangerous especially at night. That's why our curfew is at 10 p.m. which is earlier than othet academies, as what I've been told. Somehow I've met new friends. I've made precious ones and memories that I might not be able to forget all my life better. |
