I've been in here Subic for 3weeks.I havent been to a lot of restaurants yet because it's been raining for the past few days and i dont have a choice but to stay in our dormitory.I only eat out in downtown on weekends. So I've only visited five restaurants so far and I want to introduce those places. It will be a good source of information for those people who are planning to come here. There are many kinds of restaurants in Subic like Filipino, American, Korean, Italian, Chinese, Japanese and Other cuisines. I'm in Philippines but unfortunately I haven't been to filipino restaurants yet. The Following are the restaurants in Subic. Jollibee is the first place which I have tried visiting outside Tec. Jollibee is well known here in the Philippines . It's more popular than Mcdonald's in this country and of course Filipinos love this plase too. My friends recomended this place to me so Im really excited to eat in Jollobee. I had buger set and it was good but it's different from what I expected. Actually Korean foods are salty and spicy but Filipino foods are more salty. But there's a special thing which I haven't seen in other fastfood restaurants in Korea and that is they sell spaghetti here. Fastfood as i know ia a place where we can only buy hamburger so It was new experience to me. I haven't tried it yet but many teachers told me their spaghetti is good. Also they have a lot of menus like bugers, chickens, spaghetties and rice meals. It's not expensive herecompared to fastfood stores in Korea. Xtremely Xpresso is Filipino style Italian restaurant. In this place, the most popular menu is 'Big Ben' pizza. You can guess on the name, this pizza is really big. The diameter of this pizza is almost 50cm. Other menu was also good but pizza was the best. It was also little bit salty as other flipino food but that makes it good with mango juice. Seven girls went there and ordered one big-ben pizza, 2 kinds of pastas, one steak and three cups of mango juice and we paid about 280peso(about 8000won). It's not a cheap place in philippine but If you like italian foods, I recommend you this to you. Meat Plus is american style restaurant. Their main food is steak. And they also have combo menus. It composes of meat, vegetables, cream soup and rice. Real steak(what we imagine) is littlebit expensive to me so we tried several kinds of combo menus. We had beef belly, rib, buger, chicken combos. For me, the best one is rib combo. It is tender and big size. But some friends don't like the sauce which come with rib. Beef belly is good.Some people love their steaks with sauce some don't so it still depends on the costumer's choice. Combo menues prices are 120~280 peso and steaks are more expensive than combo menues. It's cheaper than Korea so If you like meat and steak, good to try. Bulgogi Brothers is korean chain restaurant. This restaurant is quite expensive than other restaurants which I have been before in subic. But it is the best restaurant I've ever been. They sell popular korean foods like bulgogi, rib-eye and other beefs for grill on the table, biblmbab, korean noodles and jjigaes(korean stews). If you feel homesick, this place will make you feel better. grilled beef are really expensive except rib-eye. Rib-eye is 400 peso per serving. It is still expensive price but cheapest one in bbqs. The other menues are 200~350 peso. It is great restaurant but if you want to save your budget, don't go to this restaurant once a week. And the last one is Chowking. This restaurant is fhilipino and chineese fusion style fastfood restaurant. They sell noobles, dumplings, rices and special dessert 'Halohalo'. Actually I only tried halohalo because l heard chowking's halohalo is the best one. Halohalo is similar to Pat-bing-su in Korea. But halohalo has special icecream made from yam(Kind of purple sweetpotato) and goes with ice, jelly things like that. In my taste, It isn't that delicious cause It doesn't have specific taste. But flipinos really like it. These restaurants which I introduce are all in Subic so prices are not that cheap than what you expected . But I think these are 'To eat out list' when you come in this place. So If you get any chance to come over here, try it! |
