Learning the new cultures are difficult and interesting. By acknowledging the cultural differences makes extending your knowledge. New culture that I learned is patience. Filipinos are get used to wait. When you go to a restaurant, you will know that culture. Korean culture is Fast-pace. So if Korean wait over 15 minutes, most of people complain about that. But Filipinos are different. Filipinos are patient to wait for the food to be served. For the first time, it is hard to adapt about waiting. Because I’m always familiar of Korean culture. As time goes by, I adapted this culture. The culture shock is also part of learning new culture. I feel the culture shock about crossing the pedestrian. In Korea you can only cross in the pedestrian lane. In the Philippines has a few pedestrian lane, you can cross anywhere. So cars have to drive slowly. Second, you can learn new language. It is difficult to learn foreign language. You studied foreign language at school or academy, but it’s difficult to speak. So staying in a foreign country for a while, you can study that country’s language. Like me, if you study in that country’s university you can make friends and easy to learn the language. But there are some disadvantages. Change in environment is little bit hard to you. You will be sick because of change of wheather. However many advantages outweigh disadvantages. You can think that studying abroad is hard and difficult. But challenging is interesting. Studying abroad makes you gain new experiences and it broadens your outlook life. |
