I lived in Philippines for about 8 weeks and I have 5 weeks left. For two months, while I was developing myself by learning English to my teachers in the Philippines, I had a chance to teach Korean to local Filipino villagers for a week. Our Korean language classroom, consisting of children aged 16 and 17, started with K – POP to communicate. As children are in dance club as they go to high school, they sing along K – POP, listen to it, and dance, so Korean pronunciation is good, and I know basic Korean, so I could start easily. On the first day, I made a Korean name similar to the name of the Philippines and taught them the meaning of the name. As I studied Korean, the children were interested in classes, learned each other's language and culture, and if they were short and long, the long week was over. First of all, I would like to say thank you to the teachers who taught me English for eight weeks. I knew that it was not easy to teach someone a language, but it was really hard to teach them the basics at a place where my mother tongue is Korean and my children are English. I would like to thank you for making me more interesting and developed myself over the course of eight weeks by giving me the basics of not knowing much about English. |
